First of all, let me say that I've only seen a few epsiodes of Cartoon Network's Teen Titans series. However, I'm fairly aware of the amount of comic book history is behind the characters, so I read at this piece with a positive outlook.
I was definitely pleased with the way that the author went about making the characters' personalities real. Granted, it's not a long piece, so the characterization IS limited, but for a first chapter, it does serve its purpose. Raven especially is spot-on; her brooding, outsider kind of nature is always what's characterized her in any comic book she's ever been in, as well as her direct manner of speaking. Robin's humorous role, while confined, is also what I think of when I think of the character. Starfire was also very humorous, though I think this is aspect of her personality is more accentuated in the TV show that it ever was in the comic books (not a bad thing, just an observation). This Dallas character has me intrigued, as he's totally a creation of the author and we don't yet know the full extent of his abilities
Although this reader is fairly certain which characters are going to be involved in this "Dark Love" which the title mentions, and while there are a few grammatical and spelling errors, it doesn't detract from the overall result: an interesting introduction to what should be a compelling story. Well done... now let's see what happens next!
