Ah, bliss. Another couple of chapters. And they're findable without typing in the chapter number, like on a certain other fiction site... My spider sense tells me that Doom has some doubts about how Jovi feels about him. And she juist told him how scared she was when she met him. Hmmm... I assume that she's worried about her mother's madness is hereditary.

There are a lot of interesting points you raise in this chapter, when i stop and think about it there are many heroes who have gained their powers by doing really stupid things or just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I suppose that is why i prefer villians; if a villian destroys a building they get blamed for it but if a hero does it gets overlooked dosen't seem fair does it ? On a lighter note i enjoyed the part about superhero insurance (inn-sewer-ants ?) and the mention of Joviana's psychotic mother i hope the lady her self will make an appearance soon.
Its funny that you should mention book signings because thats precisely what i was doing yesterday. He signed Thud! and Hogfather for me. He was very polite but looked tired so i didn't bother to ask any inane questions. Its a shame that you couldn't get your book signed the way you wanted in my humble opinion it was none of the bookstores business what you had written in the book.

I have returned! Chap 4 & 7- Good choice for 'mysterious history' in Janet. Of all the Marvel superheroines, she has ones of the most incredibly effed up stories of them all. Even discounting the abusive relationship, her rich lifestyle and unclear motives are really quite empty. She doesn't have the understandable or distinguished motives that Spidey has, and the fact that she sought out her powers herself for reasons of pure revenge is definetly a sign of an unbalanced personality. Still, you have to feel for her: brave enough to do incredible things, but not smart enough to see that she's endangering herself needlessly. You can go places with her. You've also made her enough of a sympathetic, if vaguely dangerous, character by recalling her own abusive relationships. I knew that such a promise of help to Jovi if Doom hurts her would *have* to come from a superheroine, but coming from Janet gives it depth, and tho she's oblivious, a history of friendship.
- I love what you've done with She-Hulk. Absolutely marvelous. Brash and mouthy in public, but privately insightful and contemplative. Frequently people forget that she was a damned good lawyer as well as a superheroine (which makes it odd for her to continue in her 'heroic' profession). Very good choice, again, and very consistent with who Susan would be friends with. I wonder, tho, why Shulkie doesn't know Matt Murdock in chap 7, tho, since they are both lawyers, presumably both working in the same court system.
-oh, the lingerie stores. So, so true to life. It's good for go a little nuts in Victoria's secret every now and again. That Susan Richards, however, is aware of the joys of kinky sex (husbandmadeofputty, husbandmadeofputty! muahahahaha!) does not bode well for my hopes that Reed walked in on something squiky in college and freaked out... (damn.) I look forward *muchly* to the lingerie's appearance in the story. However, will it have to wait until the 'official' wedding night? It's a bit late, really.
-alright, I'm going to now list all of the dangling threads that I demand you tie up in so that I can sleep at night:
HOW does Jovi know that Parker is Spider-man? Or Matt Murdock? Is it Doom's database (which would be a cop-out, I say, but very likely), or her own sneaky prowess?
WHAT about the kids? Does Doom intend to have any? This was left open from 'Minion,' and it makes me sad.
WHAT did Reed Richards know about Doom from college that made it impossible for any woman to trust him as a husband? WILL we ever see Jovi's crazy mother? Is she coming out of the woodwork during the NY stay, or should we just assume that she will only appear in reference? Is she even still alive? Will Doom have her head on a silver platter as wedding present?
WHAT HAPPENED IN THE AFTERLIFE??? (god, that's a weird sentence to put in past tense.) And why does DOOM still remember, while Jovi doesn't? Does Jovi have any lingering side effects from her trip to death? A fear of deep water? Sniffles? Nightmares from which she will wake to the comforting arms of DOOM? (pretty please?)
