The Rock

 Archie Comics has existed for 70 years. During most of that time, there has been  a famous threesome between 

Betty Cooper, Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge.

It was time for a change.

This story is from a different universe, the real world.

It  can be an  ugly world, even for good people. But we survive hardships through faith love and strength. This was

adapted from a true story of someone near and dear to me.

. I just put it in Archie's world

Dictionary definition:

Rock- can be a verb adjective or a noun. Can be used to describe a good thing.

A rock is a solid formation of sand and water which naturally forms a solid mass that can grow to large sizes and be immobile. Many types of gemstones are considered rocks. They are sturdy. Ancient people found rocks very useful and needed them in order to survive. A person who is dependable is called a rock.

Betty Cooper had just thrown a huge ice cream sundae over the heads of Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge

Betty and Archie had a date for sundaes at Pop’s Chocklit Shop  after school. When Betty arrived, there was Archie sitting  with Veronica  in a very loving embrace. Then he had the nerve to tell her.

“ Hey Bets, sorry, I forgot I had a date with Veronica ,we can go out tomorrow, OK?”

This has happened so many times before.

 Betty had enough. Therefore she ordered a triple deluxe sundae and threw it on Archie and Ronnie, and a lot of it on both of them. It was a huge sundae. 'Good for the bitch', Betty thought. She needed a new BFF.

Jughead Jones moaned loudly at the waste of such beauty. "I coulda eaten that!" he yelled, causing everyone in Pop's to laugh harder.

 Reggie Mantle had seen it all and teased Archie and Veronica about really being “sweet” hearts now. or,   

"Finally  Betty gave you two the "cold" shoulder". The whole place roared with more laughter at the two being covered in goo, and Reggie's quips.

Archie had broken her heart for the last time, broken their last date, and he will have to take his car to a mechanic and pay for repairs.

Betty was sooo done with him. Betty turned and left Pop Tate's Chocklit Shoppe. She really enjoyed their humiliation. She had turned the tables on them at last.

"Hey Bets, you ok?" This was Reggie. he ran to catch up to her.

 "Sure Reg. They deserve each other. I'm fine. I just need to rid myself of that red headed fool once and for all. See you later". That was the best $7.50 she ever spent to rid herself of those two.

The gossip was rampant about Archie and Veronica’s humiliation

Betty now planned on going home and ridding herself of anything  and everything Archie had given her over the years , or looked anything that looked  like Archie..

 Three hours later, after taking the last of the many bags of memorabilia that she had from the many years of loving Archie Andrews outside for garbage pickup, Betty sighed.

 "Now what do I do'  My whole life has been Archie." She had a dilemma alright, but for now, time for a nice long, hot bubble bath, and a good night's sleep, she hoped.

 Betty tossed and turned all night, still longing for him, dreaming of Archie Andrews….

 The next day, she awakened, bleary eyed and feeling better. Feeling free.

She was young (18), beautiful and free.

 Betty  planned on changing her looks and  would act as if she didn't have a care in the world.

Thank God she was free at last!
