Reflection

CHAPTER THIRTEEN: REFLECTION JET sat watching with idle amusement as Robin squatted on all fours licking his own come off the floor. She'd pumped him dry three times and now harboured a small bit of admiration at the boy's new-found stamina. "You've missed a bit toy," she murmured moving her foot to point at a piece of glistening juice to the side of him. The Boy Wonder obediently flicked his head to the left and began lapping it up. "Very good," she purred. "You've turned into a most gratifying specimen." On the table at her side the day's newspapers lay next to a telephone - almost all of them full of the revelations surrounding her supposed forthcoming marriage to the teenager now obediently carrying out her every command in front of her. She flicked over a page in the Daily News to look again at their double page spread with its picture of a glowering Batman striding down some street and the headline: Can He Approve? "Mmmmmm," she purred letting her mind wander exultantly to the torment the Caped Crusader must be going through. So far the plan had worked to perfection but she was aware there could be no slip-ups if the ultimate goal was to be achieved. Batman had great reserves of mental strength and she knew the tortures she'd put him through might just ignite the piece of steel in his mind that she most feared. But then she had four years of planning on him. Four years when he had not given her a thought yet she had been plotting every detail of his downfall. Four years during which she had identified all of his weak points. Starting with Robin. As soon as she'd broken the so-called Boy Wonder she knew she could achieve her goal. Batman's lair had been discovered, she'd led him around town like a puppet being yanked on a string, mocked his inadequacy at every turn - yet she still needed something more. She needed him to totally succumb with his own free will. She needed him to recognise that she was his superior. She couldn't have his brain so destroyed that he didn't realise what he was doing. She'd done that to Robin with ease. But for Batman there had to be the realisation that he was bending to her will despite hating every minute of his supplication. It had to be complete and utter torture for him. Nothing less would suffice. Robin was still licking the floor like a dog as Jet's foot flashed out and connected with his forehead. He whimpered as he crashed onto his side and his mistress rose angrily from her chair. She stood over him sneering and shaking her head. "Useless, useless Robin," she spat angrily. "There's no fun in mastering pig swill like you." Jet rammed her foot into his face and watched half-heartedly as he squirmed under her. She breathed hard in anger fighting the temptation to pull the shivering wretch from the ground and snap his neck. "Calm, calm," she told herself. "Not long now." Robin yelped in pain as she aimed one last kick into his midriff to assuage her temper before stalking out of the room and locking the door behind her. She took a few deep breaths as she stood in the corridor with her arms folded. "Get a grip girl," she breathed. "Don't ruin everything now."
