The Rock

When Betty heard Reggie’s voice, she  weakly called his name.

“Reggie!”

Reggie raced to her side.

Betty had a bloody and grossly bruised face, swollen lips.

Both her eyes were bruised and puffy.

Her neck was put in a brace to stabilize her jaw. Thank God it wasn’t broken.

But she  still reached out for her rock. Betty felt  sharp pains in her stomach and right side from Jason punching her.

Reggie  had nearly lost his mind.

Pushing the paramedics out of his way, Reggie gently took her hands. He wanted to hold her, but was afraid he’d hurt her.

Reggie lovingly kissed her forehead.  That was the only place that was not too bruised on her body.

The police held Archie and Veronica back. They had to get Betty to the hospital, fast.

Reggie was seething in anger. He had some unfinished business.

“I’ll be back Babe, I promise!”.

“Don’t leave me!!” She was grabbing his arm, tugging at him not to leave.

Reggie was not finished with Jason.

He was forcibly restrained from trying to hit Jason again.

The police had threatened to handcuff  and  arrest him if he tried any further violence.

“If you behave yourself, son, I’ll let you ride with her in the ambulance” Detective Knowles told Reggie, which worked to calm him down.

The paramedics had taken Betty to the ambulance outside.

The police  had to call another ambulance for Jason Blossom.

 Betty had given Jason a good wallop to his head and face. 

Reggie had added a little damage of his own.

Veronica had called her father,  and filled him in hysterically on what was going on.

Hiram Lodge was outraged. There would be hell to pay for this. He had a soft spot for Betty Cooper.

Jason had a concussion, fractured skull and right eye socket,  and multiple bruises.

Not to mention a ruptures spleen. Thanks to Reggie.

Reggie really had tried to kill him.

 The police had called all of their parents.

The Mantles drove the Coopers to go to the Centerville General Hospital.

The Blossoms had to go  see Jason at a different hospital.  One that had a prison ward.

The police were still deciding if they should arrest Reggie for the damage he did to Jason.

Not that Jason didn’t deserve it. The Blossoms did not press charges. They hoped the Mantles and the Coopers would show some leniency if they did this. They had to get Jason off  the hook. The Blossoms had been through this before. He would be in jail forever if the Coopers pressed charges.

The sound of another ambulance resounded in the distance.

‘Look what that pervert did to that pretty girl!’ The police were horrified.

Nothing like this ever happened before in Centerville or Riverdale for that matter..

Everyone saw how Betty reacted when she heard Reggie’s voice.

 Cheryl saw Betty’s condition, and could no longer hate her.

 Betty looked horrible.

Veronica  and Archie were both extremely distressed.

They both were taken to  the hospital and had to be treated for shock.

They were given a mild sedative and taken home by their parents.
