Chapter 2
Chapter 2
It took her a month plus to set up the room, to ward against magic took her even a longer time; she had to come up with the proper wards. Also she had to reinforce the walls just in case the serum wore off enough to allow her two alien guests to use their strength. The gas was set if something went awry. Now all she had to do now as to get her other guests.
She made a written invitation to them, it was for an all female party. She called them and asked if they had gotten an invite as well; going along with the charade she had concocted. She met both of them at the entrance of the building. She watched as each girl floated to the ground gently.
“Hey there.” Batgirl said, she wasn’t dressed up in her costume but Raven and Starfire knew her secret identity so she wasn’t worried.
“Hello again friend Batgirl.” Starfire said as she ran over and hugged her.
“Unnnhhh, can’t breath star!!!” Batgirl said with some terror in her voice.
“Oh sorry.” Starfire quickly released her, she watched as Barbara caught her breath.
“Hi Raven.” Barbara said between breaths.
“Hello.” Raven said from beneath her dark blue hood.
“Come on, lets see that face of yours; I know you have one.” Barbara snickered.
Raven sighed, then lowered her hood. “Is this better?”
“Much.” She smiled. “You girls up for a fun time, I hear this is supposed to be quite the party.”
“I love parties.” Starfire said floating off the ground a bit.
“Star, you are doing it again.” Raven said in a monotone voice.
“Oh sorry.” She floated back down to the ground again.
Raven looked Barbara over, seeing she was dressed casual she felt overly dressed. “You should have said this was a casual affair.”
“Oh sorry Raven, got tied up in things, if you really feel over dressed I guess we can head back to my place and get something for you?”
She sighed, “No I don’t think so, I’m probably not going to stay long.”
She looked over at Starfire who was glowing almost, “You want to change?”
“I think I am ok friend Barbara, am I not?”
“Yeah you look great, skirts are in, especially short ones.” She smiled and so did Star.
Barbara knew that neither of them were going to leave early. “Ok, ready to head in.” They both nodded. Barbara opened the door and the girls slipped by her; perfect. She brought up the rear and when they stepped into the room the door slammed behind them leaving Barbara outside. Suddenly the room was filled with a green mist and Starfire immediately felt woozy. Raven was quick to her side, “Star?”
“I feel weak friend Raven.”
“We have been tricked.”
“What of friend Barbara?”
“She got shut outside, perhaps she is ok.” Raven focused on the door and spoke her magic chant, “Azarath Metrion Zinthos.” Nothing happened, she tried another blast but nothing changed. A voice then pierced the rooms silence.
“Your spells will have no affect in there sorceress.” The voice was deep and really non descriptive.
“Who are you?” Raven shouted.
“My name is of no importance.”
“Where is our other friend?”
“She is of no consequence.”
“Where is she?”
“As I said do not worry about her. Now I suggest you let your Tamaran rest a few moments.” There was a pause then the voice continued, “On the other side of the room you will find a box, inside you will find another; she will be pleased to be let out.”
Raven set Star down lightly and made her way through the green mist to the box that was where the voice said it would be. It opened easily and to her surprise there was Blackfire.
