Revenge Tactics Chapter 2

"Revenge Tactics: Chapter 2"

Superman cut the ribbon to signify the opening of the new children's hospital in downtown Metropolis. Dozens of cameras flashed all around him as he shook hands with the mayor.

"I'd like to thank Superman for his help in the fund raising efforts to have this hospital built," the mayor said. "Without it I doubt this would be possible."

Superman didn't really enjoy these public events and being in the spotlight so much, but if it would help people then thats all that really mattered. The ceremony ended, but just as he was about to take to the air, a young woman rushed up to him.

"Oh, thank god, I found you in time," she said trying to catch her breath. "A...monster...a machine man abducted my friend and I yesterday. He took us to this house, but I manged to get free...and ..and...you have to save my friend." She was talking too fast and jumbled for Superman to get the whole story.

Machine man? Could it me Metallo? He thought.
"Wait slow down. Tell me exactly what happened."

"There's no time, Superman. I can show you the place where he's holding her, but we have to go now or he'll kill her."

"Show me," said Superman as he scooped the girl up and took off.

She gasped slightly as the left the ground. "You're so strong." she marveled.
As they were flew over the city to where she directed him, Superman began to feel slightly light-headed. He shook it off at first but it only seemed to get worse with each passing second.
To take his mind off of this feeling he decided to strike up a conversation with the girl.

Superman noticed shel was wearing a school uniform, and she looked young.

"How old are you..uh"

"My name is Stephanie. I'm 18."

"So you're in high school?"

"Yes, I'm a senior this year."

Stephanie guided Superman to the outskirts of Metropolis. When a large house came into view she told him that was the place. They landed away from the house behind some trees, and he scanned the house with his x-ray vision. Strangely, the house seemed to be mostly lined with lead, so he couldn't tell who or what was inside. The light headedness he had felt earlier had now changed to an almost queazy feeling.

"Stay here," he ordered the girl. "I'll go in and see whats going on."

The back door to the house was locked, but Superman snapped the knob off and walked in.
As he did he listened for any noises or movement but heard none. Suprisingly, the house looked very nice. Everything was furnished in the kitchen where he was now, and the house was quite large.
He noticed a door to his right and decided to check there first.

The door led to the basement and he walked carefully down the darkened steps. Just as he got to the basement floor the lights suddenly flicked on. Superman whirled around ready for anything.

"Stephanie! I told you to wait outside."

"Sorry, I just had to see if my friend was alright."

As the girl walked closer to him, Superman started feeling slightly dizzy and disoriented. Stephanie noticed. "Are you okay? Why don't you sit down on the couch here for a minute. It looks like nobody is here."

"Yeah, I think I will," Superman replied taking a seat on the large couch. His head was now spinning and he felt woozy. Stephanie pulled up a chair and sat facing him. "So what now?" she asked.

"I...I think we'd better get out of here. I'm not feeling so well."

"Wait, you don't need to go anywhere, Superman" said Stephanie as she slipped her shoe off and rested her pantyhose clad foot in his crotch.

"What are you..."started Superman. "Look I have to go righ....."

"No you don't," she interrupted. Suddenly a flat screen monitor on the wall to Superman's right turned on and a face appeared.

"Luthor!" he shouted as he rose to his feet.

"Hello, Superman. Surprised to see me? Let me guess at something for a moment. You're feeling kind of weak right now aren't you? Sort of out of it? Well, don't worry about that right now. You see, this house you are currently in is fully rigged with hidden cameras in the walls and ceilings. These cameras are on a live feed to the internet and select TV stations. Why you ask? Simple. They are there to film your downfall and utter defeat. I've taken certain precautions to make sure of it. Goodbye now, my alien friend." The screen went black.

Superman started to turn around. "Stephanie I want you to run out of here as fast as..."
But before he could finish a blow to the side of his head sent him reeling back. He turned quickly to face whatever monster Luthor had sent, but to his shock it was only the girl standing there.

"...What the hell is going on? How did you..."

Stephanie smiled at him. Then pulled out an object from her shirt pocket.

"NO! Kryptonite." Superman said.
