I, um, I'm B-Bat-Mite," the imp stammered, overwhelmed by the beauty of the woman before him. "Bat-Mite. I've heard of you. You're part of Batman's team," stated the woman. Bat-Mite smiled and puffed out his chest, flattered that the woman had actually heard of him, and included him in "Batman's team". Most people think I'm a pest and a screw-up, thought Bat-Mite ruefully. "I'm Erica," stated the woman. "Pleased to meet ya Erica," said Bat-Mite, "Are you okay?" "I am now, thanks to you," said Erica,"those guys would've raped and killed me if you hadn't shown up." Sick perverts, thought Bat-Mite, gritting his teeth, but he honestly couldn't blame the men for wanting sex with the woman. She's a babe!, he thought, then mentally slapped himself for thinking such thoughts. What's wrong with me?, he wondered, noting that he never had such thoughts about Batgirl. In an effort to change the subject, both verbally and mentally, Bat-Mite asked,"what did that guy mean, about you having magick powers?" "I'm a Wiccan," said Erica,"or Pagan if you prefer the old term."Wiccan? What's that?," asked Bat-Mite. "It means I practise witchcraft, and the religious aspects thereof," said Erica. Interesting, thought Bat-Mite, "So, you do have magical powers?" "Yes, but nothing like yours. Wicca involves complex rituals, involving moon phases, herbs, candles and what-not," replied Erica. Cool, thought Bat-Mite, becoming more and more intrigued by the human beauty. "I will tell you this much," the woman continued, "despite what others may tell you, Wiccans do not worship the Devil or do evil deeds. Wicca is about harmony with nature and the world around us." Glad to hear that, thought Bat-Mite. "Say Erica, you shouldn't be roaming the streets at this time of night, 'specially dark alleys", he said. "I can take care of myself!," retorted Erica, suddenly defensive. "I didn't say ya couldn't," responded Bat-Mite, taken aback,"but after what happened, you sould go home. I bet Batman wouldn't mind drivin' ya home." "Oh, okay," said Erica, and she followed Bat-Mite to the Batmobile.

"Bat-Mite! Where were you? I told you to stay in the Batmobile!," Batman said sternly, having just wrapped up The Penguin caper with Robin. "Its okay Batman," Erica interjected,"he just saved me from some toughs."Oh, uhn, okay," replied Batman, secretly impressed with Bat-Mite and surprised he didn't slip up. "Hey Batman, this is Erica," said Bat-Mite, "can we give her a ride home?" "In don't see why not," said Batman,"hop in miss". "Thanks," said Erica, and she joined Bat-Mite in the back seat. She gave Batman her address, and he put the Batmobile in gear and they headed for her apartment.

Back at the Batcave, Bat-Mite decided to call it a night, and curled up in an empty file cabinet drawer. But his dreams were haunted by a gorgeous Wiccan beauty, and his strange feelingsfor her.
