Let's Make a Deal

The months flew by....

 Reggie had planned a surprise party for Betty's  18^th birthday, with the help of the Coopers and the Mantles. It was held at Betty’s home.

 Betty had  cried tears of joy when she saw all her friends, family(and Reggie) there.

Reggie  gave her a pair of diamond earrings, to match the one he had in his ear.

He had saved his allowance for 3 months

Archie gave her a teddy bear.

It looked to Reggie that Betty hugged Archie longer than she hugged him.

But she did give Reggie a kiss on the lips, while the meathead got a peck on the cheek. Ha!

'What a cheapskate. Loser!’ Reggie gloated. He let Archie see him smirk, and shake his head.

Reggie made the “L” sign just for Archie, who caught it and turned red as his hair.

Reggie felt so happy at that!

Everyone had a great time, though. Archie was jealous, but kept it to himself this time. It was Betty’s birthday after all.

Archie wouldn’t dare start a fight in someone’s home.

Ronnie and Archie still spent a lot of their time scheming to break them up.

Schemes that all seemed to fail.

Betty was still with Reggie.

Archie and Veronica did get to the point they would double date, to keep an eye on

(Beggie ) them. They still did not switch dates . Betty stayed with Reggie.

 Archie and Ronnie both felt that Reggie and Betty were theirs, how dare they be so exclusive ?

Besides they can’t let Reggie hurt Betty, can they?  They both agreed this was the reason they had to break them up. Neither would dare tell the other the real reason they wanted them broken up was selfish on both their parts. Not to mention they have been together for 6 months and Betty has not been close to Reggie hurting her. He actually treate her like she was something precious to him.  And she was..

They also forgot the fact that Everybody was saying they just seemed so’ right for each other.’ They both  hated that.

Ronnie had this thought many times when she saw them together. She didn’t tell Archie this. They were just soo cute together!

 Other schemes (Remember scheme 1 backfired with Cheryl-That was Archie’s idea)

 Leave love notes with girls or guys who liked Reggie and have them chase him.

 The notes told them Reggie loved them, and they  all believed the notes.

Of course Betty saw this. Jughead  was always around to smooth things over.

 Betty and Reggie still stayed together. Betty did want Archie to be jealous. Never mind the fact she was with Reggie, even if Archie didn’t see them together.

They never spoke of when the deal was to end.

 How about the time Archie left Jason Blossom a note that  said Betty liked him?

Reggie and Jason had it out. They had a big fight about it after school. but Betty and Reggie stayed together.

 Jason had a fight with Archie after this too, when he heard of the trick Archie on him .

Jason had really liked Betty…

 “Hey Reggie, I need to tell you something”, Archie stopped Reggie after social studies on Tuesday of the week before Prom. Yes, still trying to break them up!

Archie had actually thought of locking Reggie in the locker room, padlocking the door, but scratched that idea. Jughead talked him out of this one.  Reggie has a phone and could call for help. Then he would kill Archie. Not a good move. Archie agreed

 “Yeah, what is it?” Reggie was really getting sick of this freckle faced loser. ‘What does my girl see in him?’ he thought to himself,  for the umpteenth time.

 “Betty is afraid to tell you but she wants to know if we can switch dates for the  prom.”

This had been done many times in the past. But Betty wasn't Reggie’s girl then.

 Reggie always loved it when Archie took  Ronnie  out and he got to be with Betty.

 Archie Andrews is a first class asshole!

 “No . never happening!” if he has anything to say about it either.

 “I had always promised Betty that I’d take her to the Prom. I don’t want to break my promise” Archie finished

Reggie began to stutter in anger,

”Wwwhat  dddid  you just  say? Since when do you worry about breaking promises!!? I already told you that we are not switching!!! Stop fucking asking me!” Reggie started to leave, really wanting to erase this dude.

“You heard me Reggie. Bets  is a great girl and I don't want her hurt! Ronnie agrees and we can switch dates. It’ll be fun. Betty digs me, not you” Archie said.

Now he was in Reggie’s face.(another scheme to get Reggie away from Betty-pick fight = detention for the instigator)

 “Get the fuck out of my face!” Reggie thought of it for a second and said

“Oh , fuck this!”

 Before Reggie could stop himself he hit Archie  dead in his face!

 hey then both started to throw down like Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield.

No ear biting though..

 They were both sent to detention for a week. (Archie didn’t expect this!) Reggie , not him was supposed to be in the 'hole' They were lucky they weren’t expelled or excluded from prom, Mr. Weatherbee told them.

(Jughead told the Bee what had happened.)

Now they  both have to sit together for a week in detention. Shit!

 When Betty heard Reggie was in detention with Archie, she made sure she got sent too.

 She was caught by Ms Haggley passing a note in class..

 Shocking-Betty in detention???  Betty wanted to be near Reggie, uhh Archie.

 Betty  told herself it was a good way to be with Reggie, umm Archie. She only got 1 day detention.. But she got to be with her man., Reggie, ah Archie.

 The rest of the times, she waited for her man after detention was over. Reggie or Archie?

 Which one did she think of as her man? She kept getting the names mixed up.

Look she meant Archie, OK??

Betty would not even admit it to herself. She would not let any such thoughts stay in her head, So who knows?

 Jughead sent Reggie an anonymous message that what Archie told him about Betty was a lie. Betty did not ask Archie to take her to the prom.

Reggie hadn't asked Betty about Archie and the prom because he was afraid Archie was telling the truth.

 Reggie was happy to hear that Betty did want to go with him to the prom, not Andrews.

 Reggie was not angry anymore. ‘She didn’t ask Archie to the prom.  She still wants to go to the prom with me. Alright’ It was like a song in his head.

 Archie sat there  in detention, a little confused. Betty really was not paying him a lot of attention
