Night of the Dance

Reggie was on time looking great as usual. He had the black tux designer shoes, shirt and cologne. Betty had on a breath

taking black multicolored sequined mini dress. The top was strapless, with a chiffon wrap. The bottom tapered out,

swishing as she moved in a very tantalizing way.

She had black high heel, revealing long silky legs that made her look Very sexy. Her hair was down, and it took his breath

away. This was a very different Betty Cooper. He Never saw her look like this before.

‘Oh Oh,’ He thought. He began to get a hard on. This is not good. This is Betty.  She is off limits to a bad boy like him. She also wanted Archie’   Reggie only wanted easy girls not good girls.

“You look beautiful “  he stuttered.

Then he produced a large bouquet of white and blue roses. He also had a matching corsage and boutonniere .  His hands

 shook as he pinned it on her. Wasn’t sure why he was so nervous.

He has gone out with Betty lots of times. But she Never looked like this. He never saw so much of her cleavage and her hair

down..

“You look marvelous yourself Mantle”. She smiled as she pinned the boutonniere on him.

‘Mmmmm he smells good. Remember who this is”   She cautioned herself.

They posed for thousands of pictures taken by her parents. They really looked so cute together.

“We have to go to my folks for pictures too, OK?”

“Sure Reggie. Let’s go.”

They rode in a very luxurious stretch limo to Reggie’s home. Betty  always forgot Reggie had a lot of money as she looked

around the mansion. Not as large as Lodge, but magnificent in its own right.

Reggie’s  parents were a gracious handsome couple.

Also taking a lot of pictures, gushing over the couple. Betty did not realize she was  the first girl Reggie ever bought to their

home.

They arrived in style at the Country Club. Archie and Ronnie was there, waiting.

Both looked at Reggie and Betty in open mouthed shock. They looked gorgeous together. Then they gave each other a

knowing look.

“They belong together but they don’t know it.” Veronica whispered this to  Archie.

Archie  did have a sting of jealously, but he tried to hide it.

“Yes they do honey dove. They need to know about us tonight. I am tired of hiding”

“I agree. Tonight it is”

They greeted them warmly.

“Can I have a dance with you Betty? .“ Archie asked ignoring Mantle

“And I want a dance with you Reggie”, Veronica said

“Ok sure  Ron “  Reggie said, surprising Betty.

 Reggie wanted Betty to dance with Archie hoping she would really see him for the goop he was.

 Reggie absolutely hated seeing the hurt in her eyes that Archie seemed to cause on a frequent basis. . Her eyes were

shining tonight and he liked that. He liked her anger too. That’s why he teased her.

She was so beautiful when angry.

“Well  let’s  get to partying !” he said. They all went inside

Veronica and Reggie –“Reg I need you to help me with something”

“Humm Yes Ronnie.”  Reggie was looking for  Red and blonde heads, keeping an eye on his date.

“ Archie and I are engaged. He is telling Betty right now.”

“ That’s nice, eh What What did you say??” Reggie said Very loud.

 “I’m sorry Reg”

“No I mean,  is Archie telling Betty this right now?” he said grabbing her arms and shaking her, hard.

“Yes!” He was hurting her

“Shit! , where are they?” He went searching for them hoping to stop that fool from breaking Betty’s heart

He was too late

She screamed, slapped Archie,  and ran out the door, This caused everyone to stop  dancing and look at them before

resuming dancing.  “How vulgar” someone whispered

‘Why did you have to tell her here for. Why??!”  Reggie shouted at Archie

“ Hey. I told Betty Ronnie and I are engaged” She knows how I feel about Ronnie.

“I should kill you !!” Reggie shouted at him. Reggie was not a man for public displays of violence.

‘Fuck it’ he thought then..

He did take 1 second time to punch Archie in his face before taking off after Betty.

He caught sight of her running into golf course and took off after her.

“Bets wait up!!. Betty stop!!”

“Go away Reggie keep dancing with Ronnie!!”

“She told me about her and Carrot top getting engaged. I don’t care about that. I don’t want to see you like this. There are so

many guys that want to be with you but you don’t give them the time of day”

“Shut up!! “  Betty stopped then. Eyes blazing, fists clenched

“Listen to me Archie is an asshole who has been using you. You are too beautiful and smart to miss how he has been

using you”

“I hate you!!!”  She began punching him totally enraged at hearing the truth about her and Archie

“Betty I have to say these things.  I HATE SEEING HOW HE HURTS YOU!”

She kept hitting him.
