Mr JONAH... and the Assassian

Raven reluctantly followed Jonah to his car, neither having said anything to each other since they left Jonathon Wilson’s office. Once they arrived at the black sedan, Jonah opened the passenger side door for Raven and got behind the wheel. Once the doors were closed, Raven turned to him and spoke. “Let me get something clear,” she began. “I don’t need your help. I’m only going along with this charade so my boss will not be nervous about my safety.” Jonah smiled. “You really like your boss?” “Yes, he is tough but fair, and he is a good man.” “You fuck him yet?” Raven was shocked at the crassness of his question, but didn’t show it. “No, I have not; I’m engaged to someone else.” Jonah smiled to himself, glad he could ruffle her feathers. He started the car and drove out of the parking garage.
“My name is Rachel. Rachel Roth,” she said, once more breaking the silence. Jonah rolled his eyes. “Jonah,” he said, his own introduction complete. “Is that your first or last name?” “Only name. Never given a real one. At least I don’t think I was.” Raven looked at him, her arched eyebrows saying it all. “About ten years ago I woke up, with no memory, no idea of who I was, and a bullet hole through my chest. I had washed up on a shore outside of the city. A guy found me and took me back to his place. There I recovered and began a little business of mine.” “Being a bodyguard?” Raven asked. “More or less. In actuality, I’m a hired gun. If someone needs someone taken out, protected, something found or lost, I’m the guy they call.” “That makes you a soldier of fortune.” “Yes, though unlike most, I live by a code.” “What’s that?” “Never harm the innocent. I’ll take out ruthless murders, gangsters, career criminals, but I never hurt an innocent person.”
Raven rolled her eyes. “Nice to see you have some ethics.” “I’m sorry I don’t live to the standards you heroes live to.” Raven was going to say something, but stopped. “Heroes?” she asked, trying to feign ignorance. “Yes. I know more than you think I do.” “Like…” Raven said, waiting for him to talk, so she didn’t out herself accidentally.
The car pulled into the warehouse, Jonah stopping the car. “I know you’re Raven of the Teen Titans.” Jonah took out the keys and headed for the elevator. Raven stayed in the car for a few moments, then finally got out and went with him. “How did you know?” Jonah sighed. “Easy. My assistant knows you.”
