Once they showered, Reggie and Betty settled back downstairs with Archie and Veronica. Veronica had dranken quite a bit in their absence.
'Was it good, Betty?' She asked. 'My first time with Archie was horrible, it was like he didn't even know where the hole was!'
Reggie noticed that Betty looked uncomfortable. He grabbed her hand and began rubbing her thumb with his index finger. 'Maybe you should go upstairs and veg in the jacuzzi for awhile.' He suggested.
Archie looked grateful, Veronica could get rude and obnoxious when she drank, and he usually couldn't control her as well as strong-willed Reggie could. 'Yeah, I think that's a good idea. Come on sweetie.'
As they walked away Betty looked at Reggie gratefully. 'Thank you so much sweetie, I don't want her ruining this weekend.' She kissed his hand and snuggled closer to him on the couch. He put his arm around her shoulders, and they just closed their eyes and relaxed.
They drifted off to a light sleep, and were startled when they heard 'My my, isn't this cozy.'
They both looked up, and were surprised to see Moose Mason, and Midge Klump standing in the doorway. They were not due until early the next morning.
After they were greeted, Midge explained. 'Moose got off work a bit early tonight, and we decided to drive up. By the way, where are Archie and Veronica?'
'In the jacuzzi, you know how they are.' laughed Betty, rolling her eyes. 'Ron's had a bit to drink, and Reggie wants to calm her down.'
Midge laughed. Veronica and Archie were well known for their active sex life.
Moose and Midge had stayed together through high school, and Midge got pregnant just after she graduated. Moose proposed as soon as he found out. Riverdale was still an old fashioned town, where having a baby out of wedlock was frowned upon. Unfortunately, Midge lost the baby at four months, but they decided to stay engaged. They set a date for their wedding for Midge's twenty second birthday.
Moose and Reggie's rivalry ended when he asked Betty to go steady with him. Betty was tired of chasing Archie around, and after she admitted to him that she was dating Reggie, Archie told her that he had never been too interested in her anyways.
They heard a thump, then heard Archie yell 'STOP!' from the bathroom.
