On the weekends that Reggie was not scheduled to have a date with Betty, she was out with Jason.

They always seemed to do very ritzy things-going to different balls, polo matches  , tennis matches, the ballet, 

horse racing or  the opera.

Jason took Betty around some of his friends, but they made Betty feel uncomfortable.

As if they thought she was beneath them, since her family was not wealthy.

“Who cares what they think?”Jason replied when she pointed this out to  him.

He didn’t care what anyone thought. He loved Betty. That was enough for him.

The Blossoms were even took Betty with them for weekends in Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, NYC, the

Bahamas, Jamaica, where ever  the family had their own private villas.

They took Betty to all of the rich people’s playgrounds. His parents liked Betty. What a nice girl, though she was 

poor. She seemed to bring balance to Jason's spoiled nature.

Jason wanted Betty to be impressed with all he could give her. Cheryl was barely civil to  Betty.

Betty tried not to be jealous of Cheryl and Reggie. Jason’s parents hoped Betty could tame their son.

Jason seemed so different when Betty was with him. He scared his family when she wasn’t .around . He was  

extremely jealous of Reggie Mantle's hold on Betty.

Therapy sure didn’t work for him.

The Blossoms  recently took Betty with them to Disneyland, Disney World and Bush Gardens in Virginia.

It just seemed to Betty that Jason was trying to buy her.

She didn’t feel comfortable with all their wealth and excesses.

Jason really wanted all of Betty’s time.

Betty constantly refused trips and gifts from him. She also kept telling him she was dating others.

She really didn’t want a steady relationship at this time.

On the other hand when Betty went out with Reggie, they went to plays, but funny ones, bowling , to the beach,  to

the zoo, the ballet, the carnival, roller skating, disco dancing, or just to Pop’s for sodas. Reggie always made her

feel special, and so normal.

Reggie seemed to understand her more than anyone else.

He seemed to know what she was thinking before she even opened her mouth.

She was almost ready to be Reggie's girl.

Betty longed for Reggie when she was not with him.

Reggie felt the same way about Betty. He missed her when she was not with him.

Reggie made sure he called her everyday.

Betty and Jason was at dance a the  country club (again!), one Saturday, when they were both startled by a smooth, cultured, and sexy voice…

 "Hey Babe, hey, Jason, how are you both doin’?

 It was Reggie Mantle. He was at the country club dance with Ronnie.

Cheryl was mad at him, so here he was, with Veronica instead. Reggie had wanted Cheryl to double date with

Jason and Betty so he could keep an eye on Betty. Cheryl refused, thus here was Veronica.

 Reggie asked  Jason, no Reggie insisted,  that he was going to cut in.

Jason didn't want to make a scene here, so he very reluctantly changed partners with him.

Reggie seemed to be itching for a fight. Reggie knew Jason wouldn't fight him at the 'Club', 

Jason was too snobbish for that.

But not our Reggie. Usually Reggie  didn't  like public displays of violence either, but he had always been in fights

with someone, over Betty, Veronica, or Midge.

It was old hat, now. And  he didn't care. Reggie would fight for Betty. Jason let Betty dance with Reggie, but he was

very angry.

No matter how much he begged her,, Betty would not date him exclusively.
