___________________________________________________
The hallway seemed to stretch on forever, making Raven begin to wonder how this building was in the shape of a T...perhaps all of this was some kind of underground structure that extended from the one time tower. As she walked side by side with the man beast that had marked her as his mate only minutes before, she stopped caring......somehow, someway, it would be all right. Not because he would protect her.....quit the contrary...she was strong, she was smart....he had even admitted it, no everything would be ok because of her. Everything would work out because she wouldn't lose him...never again.
Garlo, or rather what was Garlo earlier and was now a more primal manifestation, seemed to stalk the rooms that adjoined to make a hallway like an animal very used to the environment. In truth he had never been here before, but that didn't stop him from confidently proceeding. his mind wasn't on what lay before him however, but on the woman next to him. His eyes jerked every time her movements paused, hands twitched every time her breath caught at a random sound, he was suddenly more aware of her then he had ever been. He loved it, and hated it. Silently he wondered at the choices his inner beast was putting in it's two cents about. It was amusing, only seeming to insist on things that were a single step farther then Garlo would have gone alone. Not that he was complaining, they seemed to be on the same page for a time, and as odd as demanding to mark the girl was, it wasn't all that surprising.
On pure instinct, he did a back flip, barely avoiding the column of jagged stone that came spiraling from the ground where his face had been only tenths of seconds before. Claws leaving trenches in the ground, he slowed himself in mid air before his feet even touched the ground. With a low growl, he glared forward at the superpowered attacker.
Raven's gasp was audible, though her wings had pulled closer to her body in an attempt to increase her speed as she sped forward. A black talon was stopped by a rock hand that shot from the wall, held firmly mere inches from the icy blue eyes what stared back at her.
Terra smirked, her cold blue orbs dead as she sent the other woman flying backward to collide with the shifter. Her body was covered in black armor, a red bird shaped outline with four eyes in the center of her chest.
The larger figure skidded across the floor, never leaving his feet as he caught his lover and set her on her feet. "The traitor....always knew she was a stone cold bitch...." He ran forward, dodging one obstacle then another, his speed taking him to flow gracefully over the wall, then flying over to the other when that surface attempted to take him down. He leapt as a barrage of large stones came for his head. Using the projectiles as stepping stones, increasing his momentum as he got closer to the earth mover.
With a feral howl, he tackled her, sending them both back toward a larger room, a much better place to battle anyone. Landing atop her, he smirked before being sent flying over her head with a kick. He landed on his feet, standing slowly as she did the same...his eyes looking past her into the opening they had come through.
A voice, not that of Terra's but much deeper and more rough...like a combination with Queen Raven's. "Fool, just a weak fool..." A huge rock fist sailed from the ceiling, barely missing him as he jerked to the right and knelt, staring at her.
Garlo shook his head slowly, clicking his tongue. "You're the weak on...foolish enough to concentrate on one opponent...and completely ignoring an equal threat." His smirk grew as her eyes widened. Her face contorted in surprise when Raven flew into her spine from behind, bringing her forward full force into Garlo's waiting fist.
The blonde's head and upper body was sent backward, blood flying through the air from her now broken nose, her lower body still moving forward from the gothic girl's attack, causing the villain to flip over and fall head first into the stone floor, a puddle of blood forming quickly underneath her skull.
The two heroes stood, looking at each other, then turned to the opening across from the entrance they had used. Moving slowly, they smiled at each other for a moment before continuing on their way....until a single sound stopped them in their tracks.
"Going so soon? We've only started." Terra's voice came from behind them. as she stood and began stalking toward them. Blood still poured from a wound on the back of her head, over her shoulders, soaking her hair and causing her arms and halfway down her chest. They crimson footprints quickly multiplied as she move faster. At her every motion a number of small pebbles were drawn like magnets to her, forming a jagged, vicious looking body suit. All of the stones changed color and consistency when touching her, changing from every day minerals to brimstone. A spiked black gauntlet shot forward at a racing pace, slamming into Garlo's shoulder as he tried to dodge. Blood and a growl of pain spilled from him as he stumbled back from the impact.
Raven stared in utter incomprehension,. They had hurt her, badly....perhaps even killed her...how could she still be standing? It was impossible...thrusting forward before even she knew what she was doing she had torn a black claw into the brimstone armor.....or rather buried her talons into it and gotten them stuck. Jerking backward, she attempted to separate them in vain.
Their eyes locked, and the darker woman saw it, deep within the aqua eyes there didn't lay any life, any strength or power, it wasn't like when she had met Terra in her world, there was nothing behind those orbs and that very fact told her enough. Placing her foot on the other girl's chest, she pushed with her boot and pulled with her arm. Looking over her shoulder as she fell backward, a thrust form the blond helping her way, she spoke to her partner. "She's not really alive...it's nothing more then a shell. We have to decapitate her."
Garlo wasn't the smartest or most articulate man, but causing an enemies head to roll in one direction and their body in another was something he could easily wrap his mind around. Taking a heavy step forward, his body adjusting to relieve the tension on his shoulder, he charged, morphing half way. His body took on an elongated, thin form. Insect like legs sprouted from his torso, his muscles and bones rippling into a hard shell, al his being screeching in pain at the sensation. So long without changing his body hadn't had time to get used to it again and now he was forcing it. His claws molded together, stretching harshly, forming claws. A giant mantis stood where Garlo had seconds before.
Reaching an arm out, he tried to clamp it around the woman's neck and seceded...in chipping his own claw. He hadn't been expecting it to be so difficult. He decided to change into another form, full beast, and try another tactic.
He was in mid change when Raven was sent hurtling at him, both their minds simultaneously trying to figure out how to stop her body. When they came into contact, they both fell backward into a ball of limbs and changing forms. Raven trying to retract her claws so as not to hurt him, him trying to become the beast to not be sent backward.
The sudden flash and pulsating energy sent Terra's possessed body twirling through the air. She climbed to her feet slowly. just in time to see the sudden pulsating light of black and green begin to subside. A single figure stood in the center of the sphere of energy. It, for there was no distinguishing between male and female, was tall and thin, though the muscles were visibly as strong as corded steel. A green tuff of green, lush fur grew from it's chest, pure black, feathered wings spread with luster from each shoulder, and a slightly elongated beak had jagged, almost teeth like protrusions on either side. A swirling vortex of lavender and emerald formed eyes and the claws in now stretched and clenched before those orbs were green with black claw tips. A cloak spread elegantly over it's shoulders as it strode forward.
Within an infested mind, the creature was now struggling with several dominant personalities. Rage and the Beast argued viciously with Raven and Garlo. Soon though it was obvious that they all wanted the same thing...in one form or another...victory. Turning their attention to the outside world they all growled in unison at Terra, feeling exactly what the other's around them felt, all sides of the personalities, put their differences aside...for now.
The blonde puppet stood, shaking her head as she stared at the new being before her. "And who the hell are you supposed to be?"
A smirk came across it's face, a seductive thing really...in a normal person such a thing would have incited passion, and lust, both for sex and blood. As it was, it wasn't anywhere near anything living. "Names Ravlo....but you don't need to worry about it...hell needn't know your killer." With a powerful cry of battle, it spread it's wing and flew like a practiced hawk..a slight dive towards it's prey's weak spot.
************************************
Queen Raven stared incredulously at the visions she saw through her minion's eyes. A hybrid had just attacked it and now, for the first time in what felt like eons...she felt fear...it quickly passed. Nothing could defeat her...or keep her from her prize..Garlo.
**************************************
The shell that had once been Terra was dumbfounded, how had she...a personal servant of the Supreme Leader, be defeated so easily. Her body convulsed around the clawed hand now sticking through the brimstone clad chest. A gurgle came from her mouth but no blood came, it had almost all been lost during her head and heart injuries. A second strike from the ebony and emerald opponent sent her head spiraling through the air as it flew upward, victim still in claw, and slammed her body into the ceiling, hard and deep enough to cause it to stay there for a lengthened amount of time. It landed softly considering it's size, and stalked back toward it's original point within the castle.
Raven wondered why Garlo was giving their body this sudden urge, but found the answer quickly when they reentered their cell. Taking the broken mask in hand, it was slipped into hidden pockets for later. A silent voice spoke to her. "You will see my love..you will see." The fact that he had called her his love in his....their thoughts...was very meaning full. She didn't care if he wanted the stupid mask or not..he wanted her.
Turning they flew, in mere seconds returning to Terra's dead body. Then walking slowly, the creature that was Ravlo began hunting it's new prey.
Queen Raven.

Ok ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the second instalment of a mini series that will be named later. I wrote the majority of this fight scene while buzzing, so if you have a problem please tell me sober. For all those who wonder why I didn't really finish the last story before starting this one, I did. They had both found a place they belonged, at each other's side. The battle with Queen Raven isn't the main point, just a fun addition. Also, for those who have read my stories before I would like to know if my fight scenes are getting better. I am trying and want to know if it's paying off. I will not add a chapter till i get three reviews.
