To Save You

Smoke hung thick in the air, the smell of sulfur barely stronger then the sweet smell of blood that had begun to pool at the bottom of Beast Boy's feet. Impaled upon a stalagmite at the bottom of a cavern was not the way he pictured the end of his life. Fleeting visions of his friends fighting above him brought his mind back to reality for a brief moment, then again he closed his eyes. Sounds of battle continued overhead, though, as he lies dying at the bottom of a chasm, he couldn't help but to think about the events that had thus led to his demise here. How had it all come to pass that he should meet such a tragic end, alone in the dark?


...At the moment of our death, it is said that our life will flash before our eyes, and then we are to watch ourselves relive our lives. If this were true...then wouldn't we inevitably live forever...?


"Teen Titans, Go!" Robin's battle cry brought BB back from a spaced out daze. Robin and the others; Star, Cyborg, Raven and Robin were already moving for the door out of 'T' tower. BB jumped from the couch and started off after his friends, but his mind remained there on the couch contemplating everything he had just envisioned. Darkness everywhere, and a burning pain that even then clutched at his chest, and the sounds of fierce battle raging overhead. "God, what is wrong with me?" BB thought to himself as he caught up with his fellow titans. "No time for thought, it's time for action!"

...When your time comes, will you have regrets? Will your life at its end be fulfilled, or will you die incomplete, just an empty shell of what you could have been...?


After the short excursion from earlier that afternoon, BB was uncommonly tired but still continued with his usual annoying antics.
