"Cadmus was broken into last night, Superman. Thats the third lab thats been hit this week," Professor Hamilton said as he tinkered with a machine he had been working on. "Whoever is doing this is really good at getting in and out very quickly as well. No one has gotten a clear look at the perpatrators."

"Any idea what was taken from the labs?" asked Superman.

"All I've heard is that it was some experimental tech of some sort. Needless to say I'm a little nervous about my own laboratory. Even with the increased security."

"Don't worry professor. I'll be keeping an eye out on here. No one is going to break into STAR Labs under my watch."

"Thank you. You have no idea how much that eases my fears."

Superman took a closer look at the basketball sized device that was occupying Hamilton's attention.
"So what is this your working on?" he asked.

The professor stopped what he was doing and adjusted his glasses.
"Oh, it really is very fascinating. Its probably the most exciting project I'm working on right now. Did you know...."

"Sorry professor," Superman interupted. "I have to be on my way now. I'll be keeping close watch though." He could tell Hamilton was about to launch into one of his long speeches about his work, and right now he just didn't have the time to listen to him.

In reality, Superman already knew everything the professor had told him about the thefts. He had done some investigating on his own as Clark Kent, taking full advantage of his status as a reporter for the Daily Planet. He had even gone to the scene of the crimes. When the professor said the labs had been "hit" he meant literally. Someone or something had knocked down the walls and even ripped a two foot thick steel door off at the hinges from a vault in one of the labs. Whoever was doing this was strong.

A couple of banks were also robbed in a similar manner, but it seemed like the technology was the main focus of this new threat. Superman was determined to put an end to it.

The warm night air felt good against his skin as he soared high over Metropolis on his way home. It always amazed him at how beautiful and peaceful the city looked from this high up. The lights from the buildings and cars far below and the countless twinkling stars above him made for a very serene setting.

Suddenly, Superman felt a slight rush of air to his right. Before he knew what was happening he was falling out of flight and down toward the city. His jaw was stinging like hell. Someone or something had hit him. Hard.

He was able to catch himself in mid descent- still well above the buildings of the city below. Superman looked all around trying to see what had struck him. Nothing. "What the.." he said aloud before being cut off by another hard blow, this time to his back.

Using his super-vision he scanned the night sky catching a blur out of the corner of his eye. It then veered to the left and straight at him. "So thats it." he thought to himself. The reason he had not seen his attacker was because he was moving at super speed. Whoever it was was indeed very fast, but this time, Superman was ready. Using his own tremendous speed he dodged the attack and landed an elbow on his assailant, knocking him back several feet.

"Whoever you are you'd better stop this now before I get really annoyed," said Superman. The figure, now hovering about a dozen feet away from him, said nothing. To Superman's surprise, the "he" was actually a she judging from the size and shape of her body. She was dressed head to toe in a tight black bodysuit with a black hooded mask covering her entire head.
He couldn't help but notice that she had quite a nice figure, as the bodysuit only accentuated her curves. The material of her attire clung to her body in such a way that he got a pretty clear view of her shapely breasts and slender waist.

"Who are you?" demanded Superman. "Are you the one behind the laboratory robberies?" Silence. "I'm only going to ask once." He used his x-ray vision to see through the mask but it was lined with lead. Whoever she was, she was nearly as strong and as fast as himself.

The black clad figure then flew straight at the Man of Steel before abruptly changing direction and going straight down toward the city. Superman was in hot pursuit of her and managed to grab a hold of her arm. She jerked free of his grasp, and in the process he ripped off part of her sleeve.

The mysterious woman touched down on the roof of a tall building that was still under construction with Superman close behind. She moved quickly toward the large crane that was there and lifted it easily, throwing it down toward the street.

"No!" Superman shouted as the huge metal object plummeted downward. There were too many innocent people on the streets below that would be surely killed if he did not stop it. He manged to get himself under the crane, bracing it on his broad shoulders while using his powerful arms to hold it steady. With some effort he was able to set it down gently on a side street avoiding any damage.

As quickly as he could, Superman raced back up to the top of the building looking for the woman. She was nowhere in sight. He was angry at himself for letting her get away, but he knew all too well what would've happened had he not. This person was willing to hurt countless people, and that made him feel somewhat uneasy.

What disturbed him the most however, was the fact that when he had ripped her sleeve off he had seen something. He only caught a glimpse of it but he was positive of what he saw. She was wearing a large metal bracelet that covered her wrist and part of her forearm. But it wasn't just any type of bracelet. It was an Amazonian one.

He only knew of one person that wore those, and he was determined to find out the truth.
