The risks of this business
Jessica Drew knew the risks of the business in which she was employed. She had been an agent of the SHEILD and HYDRA, an Avenger, a spy, a super hero. Each of these came with the risk of death, injury, or capture at any time and Jessica knew this. She did what she did despite all this, because she loved it. She loved the thrill, the honor, the power, the feeling of flying through the air, and the knowledge that she was doing what was right for the world. She'd taken all the risks and loved every last second of it. But like anyone who constantly defies the odds, eventually the odds catch up to you. Doesn't matter if you're a gambler, a dare devil, or a super hero, eventually you pay the price. Just look at Captain America. This is the story of Jessica Drew's payment to those odds that she had defined all the years.

Jessica Drew's journal, 13th of July,2010. 8:22 AM
I'm on a SHIELD jet. It's nice to be back with SHIELD after all that's happened over the last few years. This could be my last entry for a few days. I'm going on a mission, top secret of course. I'm looking for a HYDRA base somewhere in South America. This could be a big one. I'm working with a real small tea. Five people in total, a young pilot, he's kind of cute actually, name is Sam, he's coming with us I think. A local specialist who knows the area, he's picking us up at the SHIELD base and two new agents, a kid named James, real innocent looking and an agent named Lilith, she seems pretty no nonsense, kind of boring. I don't think either has been in the field very long. I'd say a year each. But Nick trusts them and that's all that matters. We're supposed to find the base and if we can, bomb it. Apparently we need some type of file out of it first which is where I come in, I have to get inside and steal the files. They're telling me 10 minutes until we land. Better get ready. Later.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The plane arrived a few minutes later. They crew was greeted by the guide a local named Jose who spoke English, he explained there mission brief for the day. They were going to take a Jeep and cover the area they thought the base might be below looking for an entrance. They were on their way within a few minutes and huddled into the Jeep, driven by Jose into what could best be described as a Rain Forest. They traveled for as long as the Jeep could go. They got out and the guide told them the details.
"The base we think is somewhere in the bush, we're going in to look."
They walked for a while guns drawn with no signs. Eventually the group reached a fork in the trail. The group discussed what to do.
'This is my team, decision time' Jessica thought.
"We split in two groups, take the trail and come back here at noon sharp. We keep in touch." She said forcefully.
The kid, James volunteered to go with Jessica. The other three went off on their own. The two walked in virtual silence at first. They walked.
"kzzt Nothing yet. How about you? kzzt"
She took her walkie talkie and responded with a simple "no, out"
They continued on and Jessica was starting to get a bad feeling. They pushed forward though. James kept trying to make conversation, but Jessica was too busy for a cadet with a little crush. She had to keep her eyes and ears open for the slightest sign. HYDRA was good and would kill her if they had a chance.
She had yet to see anything that gave a base away, but that was probably what made it a good base. They walked in silence for the next hour or so.
"You alright over there?" Jessica asked looking back at James for the first time in a bit.
"Fine, mam."
"Don't call me man. You seen anything at all yet?"
"Nothing." She knew that, just checking.
"Yeah. Me neither, not a thing. How much time down have before we should turn around, ya think?"
"Not real-"
A third voice came in. "Around five minutes ago." BANG. The gunfire hit James square in the face, killing him. Three more guns were pointed at Jessica's face that she could see.
"Nice to see you, Miss Drew."
A dart hit her in the back of the neck and she was out of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The other team was making little progress and had yet to see anything notable. Lilith went to radio the others to check in. She got static.
"Maybe we should look for them?"
"Maybe not." The three of them were slaughtered quickly and brutally.
Jessica Drew was alone, hidden at a HYDRA location with no one to help her.
