Dark Days
Out Of The Light
ROBIN moved slowly. Very, very slowly.
He could sense someone there. Waiting, watching.
The Boy Wonder scanned the cavernous warehouse but could make out nothing through the gloom.
The blonde girl had told him her friend was in trouble in here - being held captive. But there was no sign of life apart from the unmistakable sense of unseen eyes watching him.
He stood motionless. Poised and ready for action. Prepared for anything.
Then without warning a blinding light flooded the room - a spotlight shining directly into his eyes.
Instinctively he shielded his eyes with his arm and took a step back.
As he did so he heard a faint laugh and the clip, clip, clip of heels on concrete.
Robin squinted and could just make out a dark figure striding towards him - its shape silhouetted by the brilliant white light behind it.
As it neared the spotlight dimmed and the Boy Wonder could make out the form of a young woman. She was dressed in a figure-hugging Lycra catsuit with thigh-high, stiletto-heeled silver boots encasing her legs.
Straight blonde hair hung down to her shoulders and a playful smile creased her face.
"Hello Robin," she said softly. "I'm Sasha. It's a delight to meet you. You're actually cuter than I imagined."
"Who are you," snapped the young crimefighter with just a hint of menace in his voice. "I was told there was someone in trouble in here."
Sasha smiled and waved her hand in the air dismissively.
"A little subterfuge," she smiled. "So I could meet you - alone. Just the two of us."
Robin growled. He didn't like being tricked. And he didn't like playing verbal games with this woman - attractive as she was.
"I haven't time for this," he said fiercely. "You and your friend are lucky I'm not arresting you. Understand?"
Sasha's expression didn't alter - the smile stayed on her face as she tilted her head and looked at him.
"Now that's no way to talk to a woman," she said. "I wanted to give you something."
"What?" replied Robin curtly.
"This," she said stepping up close to him. "A present."
She gazed into his eyes and ran her tongue over her lips.
Then, without warning, her right knee shot up into his balls.
"Ahhhhhhh......" he huffed as the air left him.
But before he could react her fist shot up into his face as his body creased forward.
Robin creased upright and Sasha landed a perfect high-kick into his abdomen. Her stiletto heel seemed to slice into his ripped muscles and he felt a searing pain.
"Cute - but stupid," she crowed.
Robin lifted his arms to fight back but a left and a right hook smashed into his face before they were up to his chest.
He reeled backwards - his head whirring from the pain.
Fight back, his brain screamed. Fight back!
But Sasha was too quick. She stepped forward and hammered a right, a left and then another right into his already wounded stomach.
Despite her slim form the blows felt like jackhammers ripping into him.
He grunted and doubled over only for Sasha to grab his hair and yank him upright.
"Now you know why I bought you here," she said - the tone of her voice now one of mocking superiority. "So I could play with you. Want to play some more little boy?"
She pulled his head forward and down in one swift movement bringing her knee up to meet it. They connected with a sickening crack.
Once, twice, three times she repeated the trick before contemptuously throwing him backwards.
Robin crashed against the wall. His arms hung limply by his sides and his mouth gaped open. Blood oozed from his nose and his eyes were glazing over.
"See Robin," grinned Sasha. "There is someone in trouble in here. You."
She laughed and then sent another right, left combination into his face.
His head snapped from one side to the other and his eyes finally closed.
Robin slowly slid to the ground as he sank into unconsciousness before his grinning conqueror.
