Little Orphan Annie and the Affluenza Epidemic

“Affluenza” is the latest “worst things to ever happen to Western Civilization,” but it’s not actually the newest. The onset of affluenza – a syndrome in which rich kids believe their parents’ money solves all problems – can be traced to Little Orphan Annie, a worldwide troublemaker financed by her guardian, Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks. She murdered her adopted sibling, Selby Adelbert Piffleberry; a crime covered up by bribery. She had an unnatural sexual relationship with her dog, Sandy. She employed Punjab to murder foes by mystical means, and traveled the world in opulent style, frequently relying on “Daddy” to bail her out.
